Bringing in the New Year Right!
So, let’s pick up where we left off. After our day cruise we headed home for a nap…boy was that a bad idea! It was SO HARD to get out of the bed. Our sole motivation was we spent a small fortune
for these cruises. Since I arrived in Sydney people have said the absolute BEST views of the fireworks are from the harbour and it is worth the price….well it was the truth!!
The four of us (me, Reggie, Toya and Tiffany) met up with Tommy, her husband Eric and two more sorors who were in town visiting here (AKAs were taking over Sydney!), and not to mention Tommy’s two gorgeous daughters. We rented a large water taxi and approximately 8 other people joined us for the new year’s celebrations. Because we had the largest number of people in
our booking the captain agreed to let us bring our music and dj on the boat (it’s a good thing most of the other people on the boat were young because we certainly brought the party (and of course
played the music we wanted to hear)!
Our harbour cruise was 1.5 hours long, we were picked up at wharf in the eastern suburbs (Wooloomooloo….yep that’s what it’s called!), and we navigated our way through the harbour to a spot to view the fireworks. There were SO MANY boats on the harbour it was ridiculous.
The Opera house was lit up and was breath taking! As we passed by other suburbs people were packed in trying to view the fireworks (think times square at new years).
I really need to take some photography classes and learn to work my new camera, it was like a tug of war all night trying to get good pictures!
And 9 hours later …yes it took 9 whole hours for the video of the fireworks to upload so I could share it with you all…ENJOY!! It’s 11 minutes of fireworks but it is so worth it! These fireworks are breathtaking and I have never seen anything like it, each year is better than the year before! Click here.
